IH Engineers provided construction inspection of the new bridge and associated reconstruction of the adjacent existing bridge structure including pile driving, drilled shafts, substructure construction and superstructure construction. The project also included inspection and detection of spalled and unsound concrete on top and underside of the bridge deck for full depth concrete repairs in addition to removing and installing the new HPC deck, bituminous concrete overlay, waterproofing protective system, restoring traffic striping, RPM, traffic control, measurement of the as-built quantities, and materials quality control, etc. This project required a significant amount of marine work involving the US Coast Guard while working above the Raritan River and a well planed effort involving coordination with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Traffic Operations and State Police. |
