IH Engineers is providing resident engineering, construction inspection, scheduling, and office engineering services for this new highway project in Hillsborough, NJ. Contract “A” is the first part, and the middle section between Hillsborough Road and Amwell Road of a new 3.6 mile bypass. The completed bypass will remedy safety and congestion concerns along the existing heavily traveled two-lane highway by shifting traffic onto a new section of Route 206 east of the existing highway between Mountain View Road and Old Somerville Road. Contract “A” includes large quantities of clearing and new highway construction, drainage, utilities, construction of six bridges including one over the CSX Railroad, many environmental impacts, traffic control, and a significant community outreach effort. |
