Route 1&9 (25) St Paul’s Viaduct and Route 1&9 (25) RR Catenary Relocation

IH Engineers is providing resident engineering and inspection services for this $200 million project. This project consists of the replacement of the Route 1&9T viaduct over St. Paul’s Avenue with a new structure on a new alignment north of the present structure. The new alignment requires the construction of new approach roadways which will provided connections to Route 1&9T, Route 7, Pulaski Skyway, Route 139, Route 1&9 north of Tonnele Circle, and local streets in Jersey City. The project will be completed in stages, under traffic. Major work items include: 11 Steel Bridges, 45 Retaining Walls, 10 Sign Structures, 2 New Jersey Transit Catenary Towers, structure demolition, ITS Systems, variable message signs, CCTV, a communication hub, Weigh-In-Motion System, contaminated soil removal, utility relocations, preloading for soil consolidation and 2 signalized intersections . |
