QUAKERBRIDGE ROAD OVER ASSUNPINK CREEK

IH Engineers served as the Prime Consultant to Mercer County, responsible for the design to replace a 3-span bridge with a single span pre-stressed concrete structure, 76' long and 80' wide. A total of 20 box beams were utilized for the superstructure. Responsibilities included conceptual plan for the widening of roadway and improvement of adjacent intersections, construction staging, and the maintenance and protection of traffic. The tasks performed included preliminary and final design of alignment, grading, typical sections, utility relocation, environmental permitting, ROW, wetland and storm water discharge impact mitigation, and complete PS&E preparation for the bridge. The structural design involved designing the precast, pre-stressed box beams, bearings, abutments and wingwalls.
