The overall scope for this project included a new 800,000’ transportation hub at the site of the former World Trade Center site. This new hub will be the 3rd largest Transportation Hub in NY City and will serve 200,000 daily commuters, along with millions of annual visitors to the World Trade Center and the Memorial.

Structural Engineering

IH's structural scope of work included various design services for the team, supervised by DDP, for the new World Trade Center Site Transportation Hub.

IH was also tasked with the temporary and permanent underpinning and rehabilitation of the Number 1/9 NYC Subway Line. The scope of work included foundation design (including design of shear walls for the hub) in the former World Trade Center area, seismic, blast load, and collapse analysis.
